| News travels fast... posted by AK Nana is working harder on less funding to combat crime, because of the recession. We are trying to combat : Pain Clinics, Auto Theft, Home break-ins, drugs and more... which are only naming a few ...of the problems. Nana does not have the ($2000 per month ) funding to hand deliver any newsletter to let residents know they have a neighborhood association that can help them when times are tough..like this recession. Some residents that have moved away ..left abandoned pets so we have an increase in stray cats and dogs. We have an increase of renters over home owners. So how do we get the word out ? - Monthly meetings - NANA website - Flyers - Word of mouth The recession caused a loss to membership, because either people moved or cut back in costs. Before the recession, we could afford the newsletter and focus a lot more on community. WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT, during this recession when you need us more... We are connected to local government and want to provide you with help... Your $10.00 per person annual membership is put back into the neighborhood. | North Andrews Neighborhood Entryway Signs 03-08-2010, Posted by AK Resident Members of the North Andrews Neighborhood Association that have been attending monthly neighborhood meetings in 2009, might remember discussions about creating better looking entryway signs into our neighborhood. Well YOUR dream is becoming reality in 2010. In 2009, the City of Oakland Park spoke at a NANA meeting asking YOU which design styles YOU preferred. The neighborhood consensus was a design that closely resembled the City of Oakland Park signs because YOU like how clean it looked. The wooden signs seemed too flimsy and may need more maintenance... YOU went with the Strong Bold Clean look. The City Parks Division says they are installing the signs and then re-visiting the signs to make sure they will be visible. Just another accomplishment from the NANA team of volunteers, resident members, NANA staff and the city of Oakland Park. You will soon start to see signs popping up at entry points to each neighborhood represented by the North Andrews Neighborhood Association (Collier Estates, North Andrews Gardens, North Andrews Terrace and Patterson Park). ...To learn more about your Neighborhood Association: WWW.NorthAndrews.Org |
