City Commission Waives Height
Restriction at Edge of
Neighborhood
March 2008

Finally, it will spur additional development in that area.  Building a 17 floor hotel
buildings, which will dramatically impact the traffic and quality of life in our
neighborhood.  County records already show that the traffic levels on Andrews
Ave, between Commercial and Cypress Creek, will be downgraded from a “C” to
a “D” in the near future even without all of this development.  Adding several tall
and dense buildings will make Andrews Avenue and our neighborhood streets

The commission will next consider the development during the site plan
approval process.  We encourage everyone to contact the commissioners to tell
them that we oppose the height of this proposed building.  Contact the following
commissioners at:

Mayor Larry Gierer:  (954) 772-8385;  LarryG@oaklandparkfl.org
Vice Mayor Layne Walls:  (954) 565-8475;  laynew@oaklandparkfl.org
Comm. Steven Arnst:  (954) 484-3720; stevena@oaklandparkfl.org
Comm. Allegra Murphy: (954) 735-0693; allegram@oaklandparkfl.org
